If a Phoenix Down can revive a character, then why is Aeris dead? Aeris' death has plagued us for ages, with some even going so far as to track down ways to actually revive her. While using hacks, mods, and cheats can do it, canonically Aeris is dead so it's time to let it go. It's funny to laugh at the logic of this one, but I theorize that whenever someone dies in Final Fantasy VII , or really any RPG, they just fall into a critical state. Pokémon says it best when they label downed Pokémon as feinted. When all three party members are stricken down, that opportunity leaves the monster a chance to truly finish them off. So with all that said, it makes sense why Aeris is actually dead as sad as it is. So there I ruined the m
Cars have been vastly improved in Grand Theft Auto V . From muscle to sport, every vehicle has its particular advantages and disadvantages that will appeal to a particular player. And if you wish to modify your car of choice even further, then you can do so at the various modification garages available across Los Santos. From tires to hoods to spoilers to engines, everything can be modified — even the color of your burnout. However, if you don't want to fork over all that money, then you can always just get a natural red burnout color — provided you have a dead body under your ti
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor 's open world may not be as fleshed out as some of the other games on this list, but thanks to the innovative Nemesis system, it still has open of the most engaging open worlds in gaming. For the uninitiated, Shadow of Mordor 's Nemesis system allows enemies in the game to remember the player and change based on their interactions, which gives random encounters with foes in the open world a lot more mean
The graphic nature of this encounter makes it even more chilling when a player decides to run a working girl over after his/her encounter with them. It might be a video game, but nevertheless, this act is pretty disturbing and is rather petty as well if one does it simply for the c
I'm jamming this problem onto The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim , but it applies to many games. So one of my biggest gripes is character's having a weight limit. First of all, you’re telling me tht my character can carry an unlimited amount of cash, in this case gold, without a pack, but somehow an ingredient I use in potions, like a bug’s wing, will crush my body if I carry too many? I think not. Dungeons and Dragons have various bags with pocket dimensions capable of holding larger objects without weighing down the player. Giving a character something similar would ease my soul, as I would understand that one more wing would not fit into my pocket's dimension. Now the easiest reason why there are restrictions is because of memory. If Skyrim had to keep track of everything you pick up, I imagine it'd crash more than it already d
Do you find the overwhelmingly positive reviews surprising, or did you expect to see any re-release of such a critically-acclaimed game go over this well? Will you be picking up a copy to see Los Santos in a brand new way, or did you get your fill on previous conso
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is one of the best open world games for a few reasons. For one, it features a vast open world with no shortage of interesting things to see. Secondly, it's a game that can truly be played forever, as it features dynamic quests that never stop generating for the player. It also features some of the most engrossing quest lines in series history and gives players more freedom than almost any game before
The world of GTAV is the biggest ever. Although the majority of it is rural, know that it’s not that they’ve taken away from the city, but simply added hundreds of miles of land outside it just for good fun. The city itself is huge and rivals the entire world of GTA Iconic Locations IV. Outside of it, there’s mountains, rivers, beaches, desert and more. Surprisingly, however, hardly any of it is empty. There’s small towns, unique buildings, military bases and more sprinkled throughout. The incredible thing is how alive it all seems. Off one of the back roads, for instance, I noticed a car pull over at a fruit stand and decided to see if it was a coincidence, but nope -- a woman got out, walked up to it and examined the produce. That’s level of detail to expect in the world, from the boardwalks with interactive rides to trains carving through mountain passes. To add some spice for players who like to drive around exploring the world, random events have been added that unfold during a day. Represented by a flashing blue blip on the map that appears when nearby, these range from a thief snatching a purse to a carjacking. After stopping the miscreant in one of these robberies, you can either keep the stolen item for yourself or return it to the victim. Doing the latter results in good karma that might just come back to you later in the game.
The Witcher series is another that started as semi-open world, but didn't dive into the genre completely until its latest entry. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt tears down the restrictive barriers that kept the previous games from being fully open world, letting Geralt explore one of the largest open worlds in gaming history. What's even more impressive about The Witcher 3 's open world is that despite its immense size, the game still manages to have an absurd level of detail that's just not found in most tit
